Greg Marsh

Gregory F. “Greg” Marsh, age 61 of Stanwood, formerly of Troy and Cedar Springs, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 at his home.  He was born May 17, 1955 in Dearborn, the son of Ronald and Charlotte (Runge) Marsh.  Greg attended Grosse Pointe North High School.  He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. 

Greg began his career as a director for Channel 9 & 10 News in Cadillac.  He then became the production vice president at Young and Rubicam and later the director of production at Campbell-Ewald until he retired.  Greg was an award winning producer receiving an Emmy in 1990 and an Addy in 1991, as well as multiple other awards.  He married Maliwan Phiophai inTroy, where they made their home before moving to Cedar Springs and most recently Stanwood.  They attended Hope Community Church in Rockford. 

Greg enjoyed playing poker and being on the water, especially fishing.  He was known as “Uncle Firework” because of his love for fireworks.  Greg will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maliwan Marsh of Stanwood; four siblings, Kathleen (Norman) Smart of Rockford, David (Susan) Marsh of Charleston, South Carolina, Larry (Cathy) Marsh of Rockford, and Carl (Gail) Marsh of Grand Rapids; eight nieces and nephews, Jonathan and Jeremy Smart, Eric and Samantha Marsh, Christen Blalock and Catherine Marsh, and Kayla and Daniel Marsh; great nephew, Easton Blalock.  Greg was preceded in death by his parents.

Had not seen Greg since just after high school. Never forget his humor, loved to laugh.
